DMAX Ltd. — the Moraine-based maker of diesel engine — is gearing up for a big announcement on Thursday.
Company officials are being tight-lipped with details, but said the news will have a significant impact on the local community.
The company hired 75 hourly workers in the last half of 2014 and launched a $60 million plant upgrade project, which was completed this year. About a year ago, DMAX officials told me that if sales continue to grow, the next step would be to add back a second shift.
DMAX recently signed a deal to move to a bigger warehouse space in Moraine, which could be the signal that its gotten traction with growth plans and will need to hire.
GM owns 60 percent of DMAX and Isuzu Diesel Services of America Inc. owns 40 percent. Executives from both companies are schedule to attend Thursday’s announcement.
